November has been good to music fans in Chicago as the Red Bull Music Festival makes its return with the G.O.O.D Music crew.
Kicking off at the Wintrust Arena Saturday (Nov. 3) at 8:30 pm CT (9:30 pm ET), the event deemed as “Opening Night” includes performances by Pusha-T, R&B songstress Teyana Taylor and the label’s rising stars Valee and 070 Shake. A statement from RBMF confirmed Sheck Wes will not hit the stage as previously planned “due to unfortunate circumstances.”
Components of art and activism are expected at Opening Night. Chicago teen Jalen Kobayashi will perform the original poem “The Zoo,” previously recited at the March of Our Lives rally in Chicago. The arena will also be designed by visual artist and longtime collaborator of Oneohtrix Point Never Nate Boyce.
RBMF previously brought the music series 30 Days in Chicago to the city in 2017. This year’s debut features a blend of performances from the likes of Cupcakke, Jamila Woods, in-depth talks with No I.D. and analyzations of Latinx and house music.
