Red Bull Music Festival is taking its talents out to the Midwest. RBMF is reportedly gearing up to launch its inaugural festival in Chicago for a month long of performances, forums, and more. To kick off the celebration, G.O.O.D. Music have been tapped to headline the first night.
Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, Desiigner, 070 Shake, Valee, and Sheck Wes will all appear on opening night. Nas has also been listed as a special guest.
G.O.O.D Music’s founder Kanye West was not listed on the lineup announcement, but considering his recent album announcements (the rapper recently teased a follow-up to his Yeezus album, entitled Yandhi, and a joint album with Chance the Rapper, called Good A** Job), it wouldn’t be surprising if he stopped by as well.
G.O.O.D. Music has had an eventful summer. In May and June 2018, the ensemble dropped a series of albums, starting with Pusha T’s Daytona. Kanye dropped both his solo project, Ye, and joint album with Kid Cudi, Kids See Ghosts. Nas and Teyana Taylor followed with Nasir and K.T.S.E. respectively.
Later throughout the festival, Vic Mensa, CupcakKe, and Jamila Woods will take the stage to headline their own events. In addition to musical performances, RBMF will feature events such as conversation forums and radio broadcasts.
Although RBMF is new to the Chicago area, Red Bull Music previously held its 30 Days in Chicago series in 2017, which showcased the hottest hip-hop artists including the Migos. The festival is also held in New York.
G.O.O.D. Music kicks off on Nov. 3. For more information about Red Bull Music Festival Chicago, head over to the RBMF site here.
