Don’t go chasing waterfalls. Google’s music streaming lets you stick to the rhythms that you’re used to like TLC or discover new tunes to flood your playlist from rising stars like Tink.
Google users know Google Play for their ability to buy and listen to tracks from their favorite artists, but new component Google Play Music gives users what they want for free. With the help of Songza creators, Google Official Blog released the new service in the United States on Tuesday (June 23).

Google Play Music joins Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify and TIDAL in the neck-and-neck music streaming war. Similar to other streaming services, it works like a radio with access to over 30 million songs, curating channels based on your music tastes. Plus, the service’s pre-made channels carry the best songs for exercising, driving, working, hanging out with the family and “Entering Beast Mode” as well as ones themed by decade, genre, and mood.

Subscribers can create a free account but with commercial interruptions and limited features. They can also opt for the full version of the service for less than $10 a month and gain control over what song appears next, download music to their device for offline listening and skip an unlimited number of times. Can’t decide between the two? Try out the full version free for 30 days.
