After a six year hiatus, Gucci Mane and Future reunited for their latest mixtape, Free Bricks 2, a sequel to 2011’s collaboration Confused. The duo dropped the six-track project Monday (Nov. 14) after reportedly recording and mastering it in a single night session.
Guwop made the official announcement on his Instagram page Monday with the cover art of Gucci’s signature ice cream cone and Future’s chain. “New tape alert GUCCIMANExFUTURE #FreeBricks2 Zone6 Edition,” he captioned the pic. Following the announcement, Gucci reportedly hopped on the phone with Miss.Info to share some details about the tape. “Last night, me and Future met up in Atlanta. We ditched our entourages, we didn’t book my usual studio, or his usual studio…It’s like we knew we wanted to fly under the radar,” he told Miss.Info.

He also noted that they didn’t exactly expect to put out the album so soon, but Guwop ultimately thought it was good as is. “We knocked out 6 songs so crazy that I knew we couldn’t just sit on it. We talked about recording some more, adding more songs,” he added. “But I didn’t want to over think it or over plan things. Even Future didn’t think we were dropping this tonight. This is the freshest it can get. These joints ain’t even 24 hours old. That’s like bringing you in the studio with us.”
