Following a nearly three-year stint in prison, Gucci Mane might be a free man in a couple of months. According to his label, 1017 Records, the Atlanta native will be released this icy season.
“Guwop get out in march 2016,” the Instagram post reads. The “Lemonade” rapper has remained behind bars since 2013 for possession of a firearm as a felon. It was reported that he would be released in March 2017, but that date seems to have changed. Since that time, Gucci has released a countless number of projects to keep the fans satisfied.
His social media accounts were also recently disabled, a plan his engineer, Sean Paine, said to Pigeons And Planes will help “to build anticipation and resurface everything under the new Gucci brand.” His brand has remained unscathed given the numerous compilations he’s delivered in his absence. In a letter he wrote from prison, he detailed his non-stop process and said he’s the machine behind the musical magic.
“My reality is all I am, all I got. I am the machine behind me. The streets signed me and the Trap named me God,” he said. “I am a machine. They call me Gucci, some call me Guwop, but they should call me The Machine.”
