Rapper and actor Ice Cube is shooting down the rumors of a remake of his classic 90s comedy Friday, reports say.
A fake Facebook account claiming to be the N.W.A. star’s son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., posted that a remake starring him and DC Young Fly titled Last Friday was coming soon.
However, Cube was quick to dispel the rumors, and denounced that the younger Jackson had a Facebook page at all.
“This is fake,” he tweeted Monday (Aug. 22). “My son doesn’t have a Facebook account. Can’t mess with a classic.”

O’Shea Jr. also chimed in on the rumors, confirming his father’s tweet that he doesn’t have a Facebook page, further proving the false claims.
Ok. Ok. Ok. Ok. Ok. OKAY! I do not have a Facebook, that was not from O’Shea. #StillEatinCatfish

The last installment of the film was in 2002, when Ice Cube reunited with Chris Tucker for Friday After Next. It’ll be up to Papa Jackson as to whether Last Friday will ever see the light of day, but never say never! After squashing the rumor of the latest installment of the franchise, he later sent a tweet that said, “We had a meeting. Can’t do Last Friday unless we do it right. Ball is New Line Cinema’s hands. Bat is in mine.”
