Idris Elba has plans to head back to the studio, announcing that he’d like to collaborate with two leading ladies in the future. Mentioning Janelle Monae and Adele’s names, the English actor revealed to the London Evening Standard that those two vocalists are on his list of musical partnerships, with him on the boards and the ladies on the microphone.
The Mandela star also said he’d like to work “with any one of The Marley Brothers,” in addition to his A-list roster, but the studio time might have to come out of his own pockets. His label, Parlophone, dropped the 42-year-old movie star because his previous projects were “not commercial enough. That’s fair enough,” he said.
Before he most likely links up with the Kansas City native and his fellow English songbird, Elba plans to compile his own album based off the music on his BBC hit show Luther.
