Pittsburgh’s Pride Weekend, sponsored by Delta Foundation, was also criticized for not being inclusive of the entire LGBT community. The organization released a statement through the Pittsburgh City Paper, defending its decision to invite Iggy to perform.
“Iggy is a highly regarded artist and female entertainer and we have received a tremendous amount of positive messages from members of the community and our allies both locally and nationally that are excited that she will be performing at Pittsburgh Pride,” it read.
Iggy Azalea also recently cancelled her debut tour, “The Great Escape,” last month.
