Iggy Azalea’s comeback has officially hit a road block. Just two weeks after the Australian-bred rapper released “Azillion,” her first track in nearly a year, the 25-year-old took to Twitter to blast her record label for not supporting her new song.
In a lengthy late-night rant on Thursday (Jan. 21), Azalea claimed that Virgin EMI, specifically the label’s president, Ted Cockle, refused to green-light a video for the song purposed to create buzz for her upcoming album, Digital Distortion, because it isn’t “good enough.”
Bad news update:my record label Virgin/EMI seems to feel the response to my viral record “zillon” wasnt good enough & im not allowed a video

“Azillion,” which has garnered nearly 900,000 plays on SoundCloud since its Jan. 8 debut, is a track Iggy said was specifically for “MY RATZ.” When fans pressed the rapper for clarification on why the song isn’t being appropriately promoted, Azalea explained the industry red tape she’s run into.
@glamorouscunt they expect me to find a pop star to wack onto a radio friendly song with me rapping the verses. thats what THEY want.

Despite her varied frustrations, the “Fancy” rapper has a sense of humor about the situation.
