J. Cole says he won’t be doing anymore shows “for a very long time.” The 31-year-old rapper made the announcement during a performance at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York City, Saturday (Oct. 1).
Cole hit the stage as a last-minute replacement for The Weeknd, who dropped out due to his Saturday Night Live commitment.
At the end of his set Cole announced, “This [is] my last show for a very long time.”
Though he didn’t elaborate, Cole has basically been touring since he dropped the Forest Hills Drive album in 2014. Plus, he’s a newly married man, maybe it’s time for a work break?
The Meadows festival wraps up Sunday (Oct 2) night with Kanye West.
