Janet Jackson and Daddy Yankee have teamed up for a new single and dance video, “Made For Now” on Aug. 17, it is bound to make you want to get up and dance.
In the 3-minute, Dave Meyers-directed video, Jackson and Yankee hit the streets of New York, where the iconic singer shows off her dance skills with kids in various neighborhoods. By the looks of it, the duo seem to visit the neighborhoods of Washington Heights, Harlem, and Brooklyn.
“Living for the moment/ Don’t stop/ Celebrate the feeling/ Go up,” Jackson sings. “If you’re living for the moment, don’t stop.”
Around the 2-minute mark, Daddy Yankee chimes in with hypnotic, Spanish-language raps as Jackson dances beside him. The video also includes dance crews from Ghana, Nigeria, Grenada, Trinidad.
“Made for Now” is Jackson’s first single since she dropped her 11th studio album Unbreakable, which was released in 2015.
In celebration of their new dance anthem, Jackson and Daddy Yankee are scheduled to perform “Made For Now” for the first tim on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Jackson is also slated to headline the Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park on Sept. 29.
