Janet Jackson took to her Instagram page Thursday evening (December 24) to announce she would be suspending her Unbreakable world tour to undergo surgery. The pop icon didn’t specify what type of surgery or why, but asked fans for prayers and to keep their tickets.
“It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets,” Jackson said.
Jackson’s tour is in support of her 11th solo record, Unbreakable, which became her seventh number one album. The pop icon kicked off her tour in Vancouver this past August, and was slated to resume January 9, with a New York stop in February, and continue through June.
The “No Sleep” singer began her come back last May when she released small video vignette’s of her recording before the release of the album, followed by her appearance at the BET Awards in June where she received the first Ultimate Icon award.
Feel better, Janet.
