With the election around the corner, supporters of the candidates nominated for the Presidency are doing all they can to drum up support for their picks. Jay Z is reportedly holding a concert in the crucial vote-getting state of Ohio for Hillary Clinton supporters, Buzzfeed News reveals.
“The concert — perhaps the centerpiece of the “closing argument” strategy built to turn out this group — would be a major coup for the Clinton campaign, which has struggled to excite young black voters,” reports the site. While details about the event, including the date, are scarce, a Clinton aide confirmed that the concert will take place in Cleveland, and will feature appearances by Bon Jovi, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez. The site reads that those in attendance shouldn’t be surprised if they see Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James in the mix, as he’s voiced his support of the Democratic nominee.
“It’s a key part of the coalition they need to build to defeat Trump in several battleground states, but especially Ohio where she has trailed more consistently than in most swing states,” Buzzfeed continues. “High turnout among younger voters of color would make it virtually impossible for Trump to win.”
Jay Z and wife Beyonce have voiced their support for the nominee, and Hov and former President Bill Clinton chopped it up at the Made In America Festival in September. Looks like Mr. Carter is With Her, and he’s hoping that before Election Day, you will be too.
