UPDATE:
Over the weekend, rumors of a Damien Marley and Jay Z collabo sparked after a photo of the two kicking it in Jamaica surfaced on social media. Whether or not a new Hov album is on its way is still in the air, but the reggae luminary confirmed Brooklyn’s hero is indeed working on new music.
“We did some work in the studio recently and he wanted to come to Jamaica to get a tour of the place,” Marley confirmed with Billboard. “He’s been to Jamaica before, but never Kingston. So he wanted to come down to Kingston and asked us if we could have been there to show him around and give him a tour musically, in terms of our history in Kingston.”
He later added: “Well, I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on. I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together. I’ve been a fan of his music since he came out. We’ve never done any musical work together. So that was a joy to finally work together musically.”
We’re here for it.

Jay Z is taking a little time away before the Carter Twins arrive. The 47-year-old rapper traveled to Jamaica earlier in the week, where he met with Damian Marley, signed autographs outside of his hotel, and visited Bob Marley’s recording studio.
Hov tends to move in silence, but his Jamaica trip is rumored to be music related. Conflicting reports claim he’s collaborating with Damian on new music, or shooting a visual project of some sort.
The Brooklyn native reportedly arrived in Kingston on Thursday (June 8) and was spotted in Bob Marley’s birthplace of Trench Town, alongside Damian and Junior Reid.
He was also photographed at Marley’s Tuff Gong studio with Damian, and dancehall legend Sister Nancy.

Despite clues pointing to a possible collaboration, there’s no official proof that Jay’s Jamaica trip has something to do with his rumored new album. On the other hand, Beyonce and Blue Ivy haven’t been spotted in Jamaica, which probably means he’s in town for business.
