It looks like Los Angeles residents will have to dig deep into their pockets to pay a hefty tax bill.
According to Billboard, Jay Z’s annual Made In America festival, which debuted in LA this year, left behind an expense of $170,000. The total tab tallied $670,000 including trash removal, police duty and more, where half a million will be attributed to Live Nation.
Government officials aren’t too worried about the pretty penny that residents will have to pay, stating that the publicity the two-day concert brought to the West Coast city is “worth millions,” said Carol Schatz, leader of the Central City Association. Mayor Eric Garcetti also expressed the same sentiments, noting that L.A. can handle a massive outdoor concert, which featured performances from Kanye West, YG, and Iggy Azalea.
