During J.Cole’s rant at the end of his 2014 Forest Hills Drive, the Roc Nation artist shouted out NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr, which led to the two gracing the cover of ESPN magazine’s music Issue.
Now, ESPN is giving fans a behind the scenes look at the making of the classic cover. Earnhardt told ESPN as a NASCAR driver he’s expected to only like Country music and first became a fan of Cole when he heard “Power Trip” from Cole’s sophomore album Born Sinner.
During the short video, the two North Carolina natives spoke of their mutual admiration for one another. Afterwards, Earnhardt gave Cole a tour of his 250 acre property, which included an 80 acre paintball field, a tree house with a condo inside, a local garage and property for his bison.
