Jidenna’s intellect on social issues from a classic man’s POV is that of an Ivy League scholar–probably because he graduated from Stanford University.
With his new video, “Chief Don’t Run,” the “Classic Man” crooner steps into his chief role with lyrics that touch on homelessness, the Oscars, police brutality, and even a little braggadocio, among other topics.
In the Alan Ferguson-directed clip, we see Jidenna take on the roles of a police officer, a citizen getting arrested, a concerned construction worker, and a boss who overcame dire economic conditions as a child with his struggling Mother.
There’s still no date on when Jidenna’s debut album, Long Live The Chief, will hit the ‘Net. But, the Wondaland artist has been pretty consistent with keeping the music coming.
