The ink has dried, and it’s official: Jim Jones is the newest artist to join the Roc Nation family. After nearly one month of rumors swirling, the music powerhouse confirmed the new deal on Instagram on Tuesday (Feb. 7).
“It’s a done deal… Jim Jones/Roc Nation,” the company captioned a pic of the New York rapper signing the contract at the company’s Big Apple headquarters. The “Ballin” artist didn’t blatantly come out with an announcement, but he did post a number of celebratory pics including one of him at the Roc office, and another of bottles of D’USSE and Ace of Spades.
The management deal doesn’t come as much of a surprise to his fans however, as Jones previously hinted at a possible signing in Jan. 2017. “If I told you I was in the Roc Nation office, how would you feel about that? You’d think I was lying,” he previously asked on Instagram. With that being said, Jones hasn’t released a full-length studio album since 2011’s Capo, and his last mixtape, The Kitchen dropped in June 2016. Hopefully, the signing means new music is on the way.
