Joe Budden has been in the news for an array of reasons recently, but he joined Cari Champion’s “Be Honest” podcast yesterday (July 27) to shed light on it all, including his ongoing beef with Drake. The New Jersey native detailed a passive-aggressive direct message sent by Drizzy himself on Instagram. Joe said, he “didn’t know how to take it,” but continues to wish nothing but good things for the 6-God.
“He started off with, ‘I would like to formally invite you to one of my four Madison Square Garden shows Aug. 4. You and however many people you’d like to bring.’ And after that it said, ‘I bet you can’t release 25 diss records between now and then.’ So then it was the laughing emoji. And then he followed that with, ‘If you can, I will give you $10,000.’ And then LOL and a bunch of exclamation points. I didn’t know how to take that,” Budden revealed.
The Slaughterhouse rapper answered Drake, saying he thinks he could get up to 20 diss tracks off by the Aug. 4, the show’s date at Madison Square Garden.
“That sounds like someone who’s a gentleman. That sounds like someone who isn’t really bothered by any of this, but it also sounds like someone who’s attempting to insult someone,” he said.
Budden stopped short of detailing the whole DM conversation, in case he has to release it at some point. He later admitted, as the conversation went on, the tone made it look as if Drake was indeed trying to insult him.
