Before Tory Lanez and Joyner Lucas potentially end up making a track together — like the latter said on his latest diss track — Lucas decided to hit back at Lanez’s “Lucky You Freestyle” with “Litty Freestyle.”
Over Meek Mill’s “Litty” record which features Lanez, Joyner takes aim at the Toronto native’s physical appearance, the use of autotune, and tying up the loose ends that he believes Travis Scott and Drake should’ve handled when they had issues with the “Luv” rapper.
“Only few real ni**as left, they ain’t many/ They compare me to Em, they compare you to Iggy/ They compare me to Meth, they compare you to Dizzy/ I’m Leonardo Da Vinci, I paint a picture with color/ I already got cake and I don’t need a butler/ We already got Drake and we don’t need another,” Lucas lyrically jabs.
The retort arrives a few days after Lucas commissioned Lanez to a lyrical battle when the latter claimed Lucas is not on the same level as him when it comes to constructing a song. From there, Lucas referred to Lanez as a comedian and presented the plan for them to trade words over a rap instrumental.
Lanez was up first with his “Lucky You Freestyle,” rapping: “Is he really that bad that I gotta hit him with a bigger gat?/ Matter fact, riddle me that/ I’m literally at the spot that he said he’d be at, but where is he at?? Like, really ni**a? Is you really telling’ me that?/ Like I ain’t prepared to hit him with a felony act?/ Like, what you thought, I would never react?/ Have a ni**a lookin’ like he tryna fight in Smash Bros/ When a ni**a put a whole shell in his back.”
The spat seems to weigh in great favor within the hip-hop community, namely Fabolous who believes Lanez and Lucas’ offerings are good for the genre.
