Things may be looking up for Justin Bieber.
The Biebs will reportedly be bargaining a plea deal in the Miami DUI case, where he was allegedly drunk drag racing and driving without a valid license, according to TMZ. He also tested positive for marijuana.
Sources say he will plead guilty to reckless driving and the other charges will be dropped. TMZ reports:
There are 2 reasons the settlement took so long. First … the judge wanted Biebs to produce, star in and pay for an anti-drug PSA. We’re told both Bieber’s lawyer and the prosecutor resisted because they felt it was inappropriate. We’re told the judge eventually backed down.
The second reason for the delay … prosecutors wanted Bieber to attend a drug/alcohol ed course, but Bieber’s team did not feel their client had a substance abuse problem and taking courses is admission he has issues. In the end, prosecutors settled on an anger management course.
The biggest deal for Bieber … he will not be placed on probation, meaning he will not risk falling into the Lindsay Lohan abyss every time he violates a law.
The Biebs’ friend, Khalil, who was also busted for the same charges as the singer, is reportedly taking the same plea deal. Once they make good on all requirements of the settlement, their records will be clean.
In other great news, Bieber will not be charged for felony after a judge ruled he wasn’t trying to steal a woman’s phone from her bag.
