Monday morning calls for decompressing, and what better way to do that than with music to get lost into. DMV area-bred and Brooklyn-based crooner and wordsmith, KAMAU, facilitates the flow of energy with his new project, TheKAMAU-CASSETTE: ŭRTH GōLD.
The 11-track mixtape is a continuation of his KAMAU CASSETTE series, which left off before the release of his criminally slept on A Gorgeous Fortune EP back in 2016. On ŭRTH GōLD, he trades in his trademark tribal-leaning production for slowed down numbers, allowing his vocals to shine centerstage.
Of the collection of songs, which stem from color influences, “NāVí,” the Talibah Safiya-featuring “MĭNT” and “GRā,” which features his brother Nkō Khélí, have officially received the visual treatment. Press play on the full project below.
