Kanye West took to social media this evening (Sept. 26) to voice his regrets with not public voicing his support A$AP Bari and XXXTentacion in the midst of their sexual assault allegations.
“He broke me out of my pretentious rich ni**a shell,” the “I Love It” rapper wrote on Instagram of Bari, who was recorded berating a naked woman on camera in 2017 and was accused of raping her. The charges were later dropped after the woman refused to comply with investigators.
He credits the A$AP Mob co-founder for the success of his recently released song with Lil Pump, which continues to climb the charts.
“Bari challenged me when no one else did and when he got in trouble I was scared to say he was my friend just like I did with xxx[tentacion] and that was some pu**y sh*t on my part,” he continued. “I let the perception and the robots control me. That’s the true sunken place. Bari I appreciate your perspective and vision. You brought me closer to Rocky too. Jedis never let perception and cancel culture get between them.”
These comments come just days before West’s next musical project Yhandi is released, and comes in the midst of a resurgence of the #MeToo movement due to allegations surrounding Brett Kavanaugh and the sentencing for disgraced comedian and sexual offender Bill Cosby.
