Kanye West called into Big Boy’s Los Angeles radio show to discuss some of the hot topics surrounding his career. He offered up some of the latest information for his seventh-studio album, So Help Me God SWISH Waves, which is as-of-press-time untitled, with one week to go until it drops.
“I wanted to get people’s opinions on how they felt,” West said on his wife Kim Kardashian’s recent poll pertaining to what Yeezy should name the new album.
He also wants to use something fairly unknown to us mortals for his “album of the life”- ultra light beams.
“I’m tryna open up hearts, minds,” he chuckled. “When I was sitting in the studio with Kirk, Kirk Franklin, and we’re just going through it, I said this is a gospel album, with a whole lot of cursing on it, but it’s still a gospel album. The gospel according to Ye. It’s not exactly what happened in the bible, but it’s this story idea of Mary Magdalene becoming Mary.”
‘Ye couldn’t get through the interview without discussing the most buzzworthy feud of the past week- his Twitter spat with Wiz Khalifa over the possible title, Waves. According to West, mutual friend Malik Yusef was the one who aided in helping the rappers squash the beef.
“My brother Malik Yusef got us on the phone. He’s very close to Wiz, he’s also very close to me,” he said. “We chopped it up, squashed it. For people who felt a way about the kids comment, I didn’t mean it in a harmful way. I just saw my wife’s initial and reacted, cause that’s my family. People be thinkin’… [Kim] is open season or something… that’s the mother of my kid! And I’m ‘Ye. I don’t want to act like I’m the toughest…I just wanna show that I’m a man at the end of the day.”
He also addressed the validity of the picture of former-flame Amber Rose and Kim K., which was taken at momager Kris Jenner’s house.
