It’s not too often that Kanye West makes headlines for not being able to talk, but the Chicago rapper cut the final night of the Inglewood stop of his Saint Pablo tour short, due to losing his voice.
“Turn on the lights, show’s over,” he told the crowd at The Forum during his performance of “Only One.”
“I’m so hoarse,” the notorious perfectionist continued. “I can’t finish the show. I can’t let y’all have a show where I can’t perform for you. I’ll give everyone a refund. I’m very sorry. I love you. I’ll do better next time.”
Reports say that ‘Ye performed for about 45 minutes before calling it quits, and a barrage of boos filled the room after his announcement. His floating stage crept backwards as ‘Ye slowly walked to the back of it.
Kanye performed seven times in the last ten days, so a break is pretty understandable. Luckily, he’ll be able to get the vocal rest he needs, as his next performance isn’t until Nov. 17 in San Jose, Calif. at the SAP Center.
