On his track “Summer Sixteen,” Drake became one of the few people to successfully stunt on Kanye West. Letting the masses know that the pool in his home is indeed larger than West’s the on-wax flex was the epitome of #humblebrag:
“I used to wanna be on Roc-A-Fella then I turned into Jay
Now I got a house in LA, Now I got a bigger pool than ‘Ye
And look man, ‘Ye’s pool is nice, mine’s just big is what I’m saying”
But he and the rest of the world had to know West wouldn’t take that kind of talk laying down. According to TMZ, the Life Of Pablo rapper is stepping up his pool game in a major way–and by major, they mean manmade lake major. The site reports that the West estate now has a gaping hole where their smaller-than-Drake’s pool used to be, and will be the site of a whopping body of water. Oh, and it will be five times bigger than any pool in the neighborhood.
“We’re told man-made Lake Kimye will be fully filtered upon completion and at least 5 times the size of any other backyard oasis in the Hidden Hills neighborhood,” the report reads. “It’s part of the sweeping changes Kim and ‘Ye are making to the estate they purchased in 2014.”
West previously offered a brief response to Drake’s pool line during an interview with Big Boy: “I have three pools.” Looks like that comeback wasn’t satisfying enough for him; a checkmate was necessary.
