Kanye West’s and G.O.O.D Music’s pop-up performance during the wee hours of June 6 caused pandemonium in Manhattan, after thousands of fans tried to flood the intimate venue Webster Hall, bringing it well-over capacity.
More than 4,000 fans showed up in a response to a cryptic late-night tweet that Yeezy sent out about a performance in the East Village, a few hours after his Summer Jam appearance in New Jersey. After his headlining performance at the Governor’s Ball was cancelled due to severe weather, West may have wanted to make it up to his devoted fans. 2 Chainz and other label cohorts added fuel to the flame by releasing videos stating the concert’s location.

The line to get into the concert venue (which holds 1,500) reportedly covered two streets on the block. Eager fans chanted “Pablo,” “Kanye” and “Back of the Line” if anyone had the gall to try and cut.
Capacity was overflowing so greatly that the venue’s management team had to shut down the concert before it even started, but that didn’t stop Kanye from putting on a show of sorts. He and Travis Scott rode down Third Ave. with the sunroof open, greeting fans who were still hanging around at about 2 a.m.

Amidst the broken glass, garbage and loitering for the several hours after the non-cert, one person was arrested for disorderly conduct. It took more than two hours for the street to be completely cleared.
After the initial bout of mayhem, die-hard fans tried to follow Kanye West and producer Mike Dean to see if anything else was happening in other locations, such as the Trump Hotel in SoHo. Mike Dean tweeted around 4 a.m. that they tried to have performances at three different venues to no avail. Kim Kardashian live streamed the experience on Snapchat, noting that her husband tried to find a new venue, speakers and microphones for a performance.
