Earlier this week, several reports surfaced that Kanye West had an issue with his stage production ahead of his Saturday Night Live performance. While there was speculation as to whether or not that occurrence was true — especially since both of his performances were captivating — an audio of his reported breakdown has hit the Internet.
“Now I ain’t gonna do this, we’re breaking the motherfu**ing Internet,” he said. “I went through six years of this fu**ing sh*t. Let’s get to it, bro.” According to Page Six, SNL producer Lorne Michaels had to plea with Mr. West to still go through with the show despite the “Wolves” rapper’s disappointment with his stage setup.
On the audio recording, West also name drops Taylor Swift by calling her a “fake a**,” which previously followed his line on “Famous” that he initially said she was cool with. “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that b*tch famous.” Her rep denied this claim, which Swift also alluded to during her Grammy Awards acceptance speech on Monday (Feb. 15).
“I want to say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Swift said. “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you … you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
