Kanye West dished out some valuable insight and encouragement during L.A. Trade-Technical College’s graduation ceremony on Friday (May 29).
The Chi-town native, who carried out his community service time at the institution for his assault case in July 2013, spoke to the graduates and their guests on perseverance and achieving your goals despite the detractors.

“Never stop fighting no matter what anyone says,” Mr. West said. “If it’s in your gut, your soul, there’s nothing, no worldly possession that should come between you and your expression.”
“Even for me as a successful musician, in order to make the transition it was really all but impossible,” he added. “People always try to box you in to what they know you best for. I feel extremely honored to see new talent fighting or their voice.”

Keeping up with college news, Mr. West recently received an honorary doctorate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he also spoke about his contribution to the art realm and the trials and obstacles he overcame.
