Kanye West’s sporadically-edited, seventh-solo studio album, The Life Of Pablo, is certified platinum. A picture of the Chicago rapper’s platinum plaque was posted to Instagram by Roc Nation’s Dame Dollar.
The LP, which debuted on Tidal in February, was streamed over 250 million times in the ten days following its release and 500,000 illegal downloads in the three days following the release. There have been no physical copies of the album released to stores, so the calculations are based on streaming only.
TLOP has also undergone several facelifts in the months following its drop, namely with the song “Wolves” featuring Sia, Vic Mensa and formerly Frank Ocean, who now has his own song on the album, “Frank’s Track.”
Although Yeezy’s approach to dropping the album was a tad unorthodox, he’s been reveling in the success of his latest piece of work. His innovative Saint Pablo tour has been doing well, his pop-up shops for Pablo merchandise have fans lining up and, lest we forget, he received some major press surrounding his song “Famous” due to his never-ending feud with Taylor Swift.
Congrats to Kanye on the feat.
