
Kendrick Lamar proudly reps his Compton roots, and because of his unwavering love for his hometown, Compton mayor Aja Brown announced he would receive the key to the city.
On Thursday, the 33-year-old mayor took to Twitter to offer up kind words about Cornrow Kenny, and his influence that reaches far past his old stomping grounds.
“You inspire millions + rep Compton with honor,” Brown said. “Excited to give you the key to the city.”

The ceremony will take place February 13, just two days before the Grammy’s where he’s been nominated an historical 11 times in one year for his groundbreaking sophomore LP To Pimp A Butterfly.
