Chris Brown and Drake aren’t the only ones who don’t want Lil Wayne to retire. Kendrick Lamar also weighed in on the subject, sending a PSA to Weezy asking him not to quit the game.
In a video that K. Dot uploaded, he rapped along to Wayne’s 2002 album, 500 Degreez and some of his songs fro his Hot Boyz days. Following the rap session, Kendrick began to shut down any talks of the rapper quitting. “N***as talking about retiring and sh-t. F–k that!” The video also continued to sing Lil Wayne’s praises.
Lil Wayne, who’s been in an ongoing legal battle against Birdman and Cash Money, suggested that he would be entering retirement on Twitter, citing that he was both “defenseless” and “defeated.” Since his cryptic announcement, he’s received an outpour of support from fans, his Young Money family including Nicki Minaj and Drake, and other friends like Chris Brown and Chance the Rapper.
There’s no clue whether Lil Wayne has officially thrown in the towel. But Kendrick’s video may convince him otherwise. Check out the tribute video below.
