Now, another top tier lyricist is weighing in on Weezy’s impending retirement. While in the studio until the break of dawn, Kendrick Lamar shared a video message, Miss Info reports, on why the “A Milli” artist should reconsider taking a step back from the mic.
In the beginning of the black and white video, Lamar is seen rapping along to throwback Weezy tracks like “Gangsta Sh*t,” and “Hot Boy” before he cuts the track to give a PSA.
“We going all the way back, when he was motherfuc*in 16, 15 years old on some Hot Boys sh*t,” the “Money Trees” rapper said. “N*gga talking about retiring and sh*t. Fu*k that. Retire, quitting rap whatever you want to call it. Fu*k that, n*gga.”
Labor Day weekend, Wayne tweeted that he’s mentally spent thanks to the industry and his dealings with Birdman and his Cash Money imprint. “I am now defenseless and mentally defeated & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun.”
