Los Angeles has a command of the radio. Whether it be DJ Mustard’s production filtering through so many artists in hip-hop and R&B or rappers such as YG, Kendrick Lamar and others taking the mantle, LA’s in a good place. The same can be said for Kid Ink whose been a consistent presence on radio for the past three years.
The LA native’s third album, Full Speed, arrives today with plenty of already-in-rotation singles such as “Body Language” with Usher & Tinashe, “About Mine” featuring Trey Songz & “Hotel” with frequent collaborator Chris Brown. Ink let DJ Mustard steer much of his sound for Full Speed giving off the vibe of a summery, bouncy LA party record — even if its being released in the middle of a blizzard right now (like the VIBE staff).
