Lady Gaga canceled her Purdue University performance last night due dizziness and breathing problems she experienced just minutes before she was supposed to hit the stage.
“I’ve been crying for hours,” Gaga wrote late Thursday night on her Twitter page, expressing her disappointment for not making her latest Monster Ball Tour stop. “I feel like I let my fans down tonight. An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing.”
“Paramedics came to take care of me,” she explained. “And told me my heart-rate was irregular–a result of exhaustion and dehydration.”
Even then, Gaga says she “…begged everyone to let me go onstage.”
She stressed that she’s too tough to back out of a show because of a small setback. “I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat,” she said. “I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort.” The multi-platinum, Grammy nominated artist has already set a new date up for her Purdue fans and is eager to give them what they wanted.
“I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me. I will make up the performance on Jan. 26.” —Brad Wete
