2015 may have been the year of the dreamers, but as the new year reaches its third week, Lauren Declasse no longer wants to be a dreamer. And in hopes of bringing those dreams to reality, the 19-year-old artist has released the smooth single, “Dreamers ’16.”
The track, which is somewhat of a poetic, open letter, illustrates the artist’s New Year’s resolutions, spitting his aspirations and ambitious spirit into existence. Reciting words like, “2016, I don’t wanna be a dreamer/Hiding big dreams that I never would’ve believed in/If nobody gonna see it then I gotta go seize it/And my momma don’t believe that I make her a believer,” Declasse captures fans with his thought-provoking lyrics, while still having them groove to the soothing and mellow tune in the background.
In the single, the artist also mentions that he doesn’t want to be stuck in the clouds simply dreaming about his goals. And while there’s nothing wrong with dreaming, there’s no doubt this ambitious single will help turn his goals into reality.
