No one is safe from criticism and sadly, Lauryn Hill learned this the hard way when she was slammed for arriving over two hours late to a show in Atlanta on Friday evening (May 6).
According to The Atlanta Journal-Consitution, Ms. Hill was expected to hit the stage at Chastain Park Amphitheatre at 8 p.m. for the 2016 Delta Live Nation Concert series. Instead, she arrived on stage at 10:20 p.m. and was allowed to perform a few songs before the venue cut the lights at their strict end time of 11 p.m.

The singer suffered boos from the crowd. One fan even came to face to face with the “Ex-Factor” singer for her well-known tardiness. Hill explained her driver got lost, but fans didn’t buy it.

The backlash didn’t stop there. She was also subjected to criticism on Twitter in the form of many jokes. There were also many that defended the singer and questioned there could be a bigger issue at hand.

Regardless of the time, the singer’s performances of “Mystery of Iniquity” and “Everything Is Everything” were well received. She also performed a guitar solo during her performance of “Ex-Factor” that also deserved an applause.
Now that her reported problems with time are receiving more attention, perhaps this can be a wake-up call for Ms. Hill.
