After heavily being on the Hillary Clinton bandwagon for quite sometime, (see: “B***h Im Bill Clint0n”) Lil B has had a change of mind in who he thinks should govern this country. In a political-infused Twitter rant last month, the California rapper professed his liking for Bernie Sanders in the presidential election.

But besides the tweets, Lil B went onto describe in detail the sentiments behind his decision to back up Bernie and dismiss Hillary in a recent CNN interview. “No one’s really been saying anything about Hillary Clinton besides that she’s a woman and running for office,” Lil B told the news outlet. “To me, it’s kind of like the same thing when Obama was running, but the difference is Obama seemed to have a more down-to-earth personality.”

In addition to this, he also mentioned that what Sanders was doing in his younger years is far for appealing to him than what Hillary was doing. Thus, primarily because she used to work for Republican Sen. Barry Goldwater’s defunct 1964 presidential campaign.

“Once the people started telling me about Bernie Sanders and comparing what he was doing back in his younger days and what she was doing, it made me kind of look at her different — not really respect her as much as I thought,” he continued. “She was doing some other stuff for some Republican…She didn’t have any part in trying to march against segregation. She was just a follower.”
