Rapper Lil Boosie has been released from the Angola State Penitentiary in Louisiana tonight (March 5).
Confirmed by Warden Burl Cain to local news site WAFB Channel 9, Boosie — who’s name is Torrence Hatch — left the facility at 7:10 pm (EST) this evening, and transferred to the sherriff’s department in St. Francisville to await his family. The rapper was jailed in 2009 following a drug possession charge and violation of probation. His official release date (which had been changed several times) was most recently noted as May 20, 2014.
Details on his ahead-of-schedule release have not been revealed, but the rapper is scheduled to hold a press conference in New Orleans on Monday (Mar. 10), which has been organized by Atlantic Records.
Boosie will remain on parole until 2018
