Lil Kim returned to the set of MTV’s Rap Fix Live to sit with host Sway Calloway and discuss everything going on in the Queen Bee’s life. During the “Pass the Mic” segment of the show, Kim responded to a previously recorded question from Bun B, in which the UGK rapper asked Kim how she has dealt with the loss of her former flame, the Notorious B.I.G. “Bun B, that’s a very tough question because it took me so long — super long to deal with the loss of a person who was such a huge impact in my life,” she said. “So to answer Bun B, I’m just now getting over that fact, and it’s how many years later?” Sixteen years later to be exact. The Notorious B.I.G was shot to death in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. Kim, 38, will perform on the legendary rapper’s birthday, May 21, at Club Glazz in Queens, New York. She was discovered by the slain rapper as a teenager and became an instrumental member of Junior M.A.F.I.A. in 1995, and eventually launched her own solo career with the release of Hard Core in 1996. She has hinted at its long-awaited sequel Hard Core 2: All Hail the Queen through the years, but her most recent release was the Nicki Minaj-dissing mixtape Black Friday. She did, however, recently tweet she was back in the studio. Check out the interview below:
