While driving in Harlem, Lil Mama was pulled over by a couple of NYPD officers for going 38 miles per hour in a 25 miles per hour area. According to TMZ, the incident occurred around 4 a.m. Thursday (Mar. 10), where law enforcement officials also discovered that the “Shawty Get Loose” artist was driving with a suspended license.
As a result, Lil Mama, born Niatia Kirkland, stayed a night in jail, but no further details on the matter have surfaced.
On the positive side of staying out of the law’s way and getting back to the music, Lil Mama recently dropped her rendition of Rihanna’s chart-topping melody “Work.” Equipped with staying true to her dancing roots, Lil Mama put her own spin on this early contender for anthem of the summer.
