In his first post-prison interview since regaining his freedom late last year, Lil Wayne discussed with Rolling Stone what his daily life behind bars was like.
From gambling with inmates in Uno, “I’d bust a nigga’s ass at Uno,” to breaking down his reading material throughout his skid bid: “I also read the Bible for the first time. It was deep! I liked the parts where some character was once this, but he ended up being that. Like he’d be dissing Jesus, and then he ends up being a saint. That was cool,” Weezy puts every detail on the table.
Touching on a lighter note, Wayne also described a major celebrity snub upon his release from Rikers Island Prison. While sitting courtside at a Miami Heat/New Orleans Hornets basketball game, the rapper recalls a focused Lebron James and Dwayne Wade paying him no mind.
“Them niggas never speak to a nigga,” he says. “They don’t chuck me the deuce or nothing. Nigga spent all that money on them fucking tickets… Come holla at me. We sit right by them little bitch-ass niggas. At least come ask me why I’m not rooting for you.”
The new issue of Rolling Stone hits newsstands on Jan. 21st.
