Lil Wayne released his highly-anticipated album Tha Carter V on Friday (Sept. 21), and fans are losing their minds on social media.
The 24-track album features appearances from Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, XXXTentacion, Swizz Beatz, Snoop Dogg, Ashanti, Nivea, and his daughter Reginae Carter.
Rumors first began swirling that the album would drop late last week. Tunechi eventually released a video announcing the official date. “Y’all hung in there with me, so I can’t do nothing but thank y’all for all the love, for all the passion,” he said in the video. “For every ounce of anything I have left in my heart, it goes to y’all…With this album — I always give y’all all of me — but with this album, I’m giving you more than me.”
According to first-listen reviews, fans suggest the project was actually worth the wait. “Wayne is back baby,” one fan tweeted. “Carter V is so much better than I expected. I’m happy for Lil Wayne man,” another fan chimed in.
Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V is now available to stream. Listen to it below, and check out all of the fan reactions on Twitter here.
