Earlier this year, a judge presiding over the case handed down the ruling, ordering Winfrey to serve 10 years in prison and 10 years on probation. Winfrey’s lawyer is now appealing the decision and his guilty plea.
The incident occurred on Apr. 26 during Weezy’s appearance at Compound nightclub in Atlanta, Ga. Police report that multiple shots were fired at the driver’s side of the New Orleans native’s tour bus. Since the happening, speculation surfaced that Young Thug and Birdman were involved, but both parties denied those allegations. According to TMZ, Birdman revealed that “no legal battle would ever make me try and kill or hurt my son,” he said in relation to the pair’s ongoing business dispute.
Winfrey was later found guilty on six of the 27 charges brought against him.
