Paired with impressive bars, Lil Yachty puts on his red suede shoes for “Honor,” a smooth track by DJ Cassidy and Australian songbird Grace.

Released Tuesday (April 18), Grace sings of her self-worth with a friendly reminder that her presence is an honor not to be disrespected. The video plays into the song’s silk-like groove with Lil Yachty surrounded by women. The rapper strays away from his signature sound, with bars that highlight the ups and downs of a love affair. His harmonies with the “You Don’t Own Me” singer are also tantalizing.
The sultry feel of “Honor” is due to Cassidy, whose collaborations attest to his hip-hop, soul and funk background. The producer and DJ has worked with the likes of Nile Rodgers, Jessie and Chromeo. He’s also helped guide the party by DJing tons of celebrity functions like Beyonce and Jay Z’s wedding and former President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
“Honor” is featured on The Get Down Pt. 2 soundtrack.
