Taking advantage of the times, ABRA is here to lay down charming lyrics and pop-synth sounds with her new EP, Princess.
The Atlanta-London hybrid has kept things low key since the release of her stellar 2015 project Rose but has stayed on the minds of many as a favorite in the experimental channels of R&B/pop. With Princess, the singer doesn’t stray from her formula of high-hats and 80’s style beats. The tracks “Vegas” and “Come 4 Me” are tempting and slick, while “Crybaby” help decode the misunderstanding of love.
Teaming up with fellow Awful Records artist Tommy Genesis, the track “Big Boi” is a sweet reminder that a “princess” doesn’t always have to play nice. “You’re buying bottle after bottle then you trying to feel on me /Didn’t know I got them shooters and they waiting in the cut,” she spits in between her calls for something real.
