Following much of her success gained from the critically acclaimed debut album, A Curious Tale Of Trials + Persons, Little Simz has continued the conversation releasing a thought-provoking and socially aware visual for her latest single, “Gratitude,” featuring The Hics.
The Jeremy Cole-directed video is yet another powerful video the two have collaborated on. Filmed and shot in Capetown, South Africa, the video effortlessly captures the landscape as well as actual clips from the recent #FeesMustFall protests led by activist Imraan Christian.
With lyrics in the hook like, “I’m crawling up these walls but they won’t come down,” the single and video powerfully channel the new generation’s spirit towards activism and social change. In addition to the powerful video, the young, UK artist has announced a European leg of her Curious Tale Of Trials + Persons: The Tour. The tour, which will kick off on Jan. 17, will makes stops Berlin, Prague, Paris, London, where it will conclude in Australia at the end of February.
