Live Nation and Niche Productions pulled the plug on the Movement Festival hip-hop concert in Australia. The concert billed Nas as the headliner and included 2 Chainz, Chiddy Bang, Joey Bada$$, Angel Haze, Spit Syndicate, Thundamentals and homegrown hip hop chart-toppers Bliss N Eso as acts.
The concerts were supposed to start on April 24 at Auckland’s Vector Arena, to follow at Sydney, on April 26 at the Hordern Pavilion, then Melbourne on April 27 at the Sidney Myer Music Bow), Brisbane on April 28 at the Riverstage and finally Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on April 30.
The promoters published a joint statement today citing that the withdrawal of 2Chainz due to visa issues from an unresolved court case, and Angel Haze due to recording commitments caused a change of venues in some markets. The changes “prompted patron feedback that the event no longer reflected what had been advertised,” according to the statement.
