Lloyd and 2 Chainz recently teamed up for a fiery remix of the former’s latest single, “Tru.” Tity Boi starts off the track with his honest verse where he asks home hitting questions, followed by Lloyd’s melodic voice towards the climax of the melody.
“I want you to ask yourself, ‘Are you happy with what you see? Are you happy of what you’ve become and where you’re going in life?’” Chainz ponders.
Lloyd, 30, also hits some heartwarming points in his part, revealing, “Came home helped my sister raise a child, kinda hurt me cause I could have had my own now. Lost my baby damn it’s really hitting home now.”
The Atlanta native expressed how personal this song is to him and described it as “pure therapy.” He continued, “I remember the first few times people would listen to it, I would leave the studio. I could never look at people while they were listening to it.”
The release of “Tru” is just a few days shy of Lloyd’s tweet where he promised a new album to his fans.
