Rapper Logic paid homage to some of his favorite artists such as J. Cole and hip hop journalist Rob Markman on the artwork of his forthcoming album, Everybody. Along with the announcement of his third studio LP, the Maryland rapper released the album’s title track.
Produced by PSTMN, Logic and 6IX, this engrossing song finds the Def Jam artist mesmerizing listeners with his rapid flow on the sometimes uncomfortable subject of race—particularly his own identity issues.
“If it was 1717, black daddy, white momma wouldn’t change a thing/Light skin mothafucka certified as a house ni**a/Well I’ll be Got damned, go figure/In my blood is the slave and the master/It’s like the devil playing spades with the pastor/But he was born with the white privilege/Man what the fuck is that?,” Logic raps.
Back in 2016, the “Under Pressure” raper announced the release of Africaryan (now Everybody) with a cinematic trailer. Also last year, the 27-year-old released a surprise mixtape titled Bobby Tarantino.
Fans can expect Everybody on May 5.
